EVENT DETAILS
The Rotary Club of San Antonio at The Dominion will be holding its Fourth Annual WILD WEST DAY charity fundraiser on October 18th at Enchanted Springs from 10 AM- 5 PM. This year will feature two new events: The Texas Showdown Fast Draw Competition and Texas Showdown Media Shootout. Guest Star and Coordinator Bob Graham will be overseeing the competition. Shooters fire safe wax bullets at stationary targets and compete against the clock. Shooters from all over Texas are expected to participate. A champion shooter himself, Mr. Graham holds many titles including World Fast Draw Association Title Holder and holds the record for the fastest time; he is a four-time World Champion; a four-time National Champion and fifteen- time State Champion. Participants in the Fast Draw Media Shoot Out will include Sarah Lucero and Kelly Patterson (Kens 5) and Siobhan Anders and Brian Collister (WOAI)—and more media celebrities are expected to sign on.
Other events will include Wells Fargo stage coach rides, gunfighters and bank robbers, a Kids Corner with video games and other attractions, tractor wagon rides through the Wild Animal Park and an old time photography studio. Also battling it out will be several War Between The States/Civil War Re-enactors. Pistol Packin’ Paula will serve as the day’s emcee. She twirls and shoots like Annie Oakley, cracks a bull whip like Calamity Jane, and is a Pistol Twirling World Champion. There’s plenty of action, food booths, the Mike Lord 3 Band, and dancing at WILD WEST DAY. Last year’s event drew over one thousand attendees.
WILD WEST DAY will benefit many children’s charities such as the Children’s Shelter, ARC (Access•Resource•Choice), Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services, St Peter-St. Joseph Children’s Home, Father Flanagan’ Boys’ Town and Boysville. Organizations which support our military men and women, such as Float A Soldier, will also benefit from the proceeds of WILD WEST DAY. Major sponsors of the event include Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, Valero, Documation and Toyota.
Enchanted Springs Ranch is located 2.8 miles west of Boerne, Texas on Hwy 46 between the two teepees on the right. No pets, coolers, alcohol, or glass bottles allowed. Beer and wine can be purchased in the Silver Spur Saloon.
