San Antonio Rehearsal Dinner Planning Checklist
Are you in the process of planning your pre-wedding soiree? Look no further than Enchanted Springs Ranch for a memorable night at the ranch before you say “I Do!”
A wedding rehearsal typically occurs one to two nights before the wedding ceremony itself. The bride and groom, along with the wedding planner and bridesmaids and groomsmen will come together before the rehearsal dinner for a ceremony rehearsal. It’s important to have this rehearsal time at your wedding venue so you can make sure everything runs smoothly. Traditionally the groom and the groom’s parents are responsible for planning the rehearsal dinner. The focus of the rehearsal dinner isn’t so much on the dinner itself but time to spend with family members, the wedding party and close friends celebrating before the big day. If you receive an invitation to the rehearsal dinner, you are in for a treat! It’s truly a special occasion in a more intimate setting before all the wedding festivities begin. There are a lot of things to consider when planning your rehearsal dinner. We’ve narrowed down a few of the key points to consider when planning your special event.
Rehearsal Dinner Venue
It’s important to find the perfect setting for your rehearsal dinner. The wedding venue plays an extremely big part of the wedding day, but the rehearsal dinner venue is just as important. This venue sets the tone for your wedding weekend and what your guests can expect! Everyone has eaten at a restaurant or sat in a private dinner room before. Why not plan your rehearsal at a venue that is sure to provide your guests with an experience. It’s important that you check these items off your list when securing your venue:
- Determine if this space can accommodate everyone on your guest list. Or should we say, comfortably accommodate everyone on your guest list. Make sure the venue has audio visual capabilities if you are interested in a slideshow or speeches. during the event. If you are interested in alcohol at your event, see what options you have when it comes to a cash bar, a consumption bar or a hosted bar.Your wedding planner may leave after the ceremony rehearsal so it’s important to check with the venue to see if they provide an event coordinator during the entirety of your event. Verify the set-up and clean-up times with the venue. If you are interested in bringing in your own personal decor ahead of time, make sure to confirm a time to set up these items at the venue.
Are you overwhelmed yet? Don’t be! This is a very exciting time and you deserve to enjoy every second of it! We host a number of rehearsal dinners here at Enchanted Springs Ranch. We are happy to provide turnkey services to ensure you and your guests enjoy every moment of this special evening.
Rehearsal Dinner Caterer
Once you’ve decided on a venue and determined your guest list, now it’s time to think about what type of food you’d like. Remember to consider the type of meal your guests will enjoy on the wedding day. You don’t want them eating Texas BBQ two nights in a row (even though it’s delicious)! If you are planning a more formal sit down meal for the wedding night, maybe you decide on a more casual buffet meal for the rehearsal dinner. Remember to ask your caterer these questions when determining your menu.
- Ask about dietary restrictions and how your caterer will meet these needs.Confirm deadlines for final head counts. See if your selected caterer has catered at your venue before and if they haven’t, it’s important to set up a walk through so they are familiar with the venue space. If you plan to have a cake of some sort, determine if there are additional fees for the cutting of the cake, providing proper utensils.
Enchanted Springs Ranch works closely with a number of reliable San Antonio area caterers. We are happy to take away the stress of coordinating the meal from you. We can work with the caterer to help design a menu that fits your budget and that your guests will love.
Rehearsal Dinner Decor
Pinterest, what did we do before it? There is so much inspiration on Pinterest! Simply typing in “rehearsal dinner ideas” will give you a plethora of design ideas to begin with. When sending your rehearsal dinner and wedding invitations, remember to clearly outline the dress code for your guests. A lot of our rehearsal dinner guests at Enchanted Springs Ranch opt for boots, jeans and cowboy hats. We love a good theme! If your wedding is going to be black tie, it’s nice for your guests to have a more casual evening the night before and vice versa. The table settings are important too! We love when guests add a personal touch to the centerpieces. Consider including some framed photos of the bride and groom or maybe an interactive ice break that the table can enjoy together. The options are endless and we encourage personalization at Enchanted Springs Ranch!
Rehearsal Dinner Entertainment & Rehearsal Dinner Activities
After you and your bridal party practice your walk down the aisle, it’s time to let loose and enjoy the rehearsal dinner! But don’t take it from us, hear it from our amazing clients!
“We had 75 peeps attend our son’s rehearsal dinner and we had a wonderful evening. We planned the event via email and telephone and it looked good on paper but was so much more on the night. We made a few changes the day before and Sylvia and Lyndsey (staff) made sure everything went as planned. The mechanical bull was a big hit as well as the trail rides. I do not think any of our guests wanted for anything that evening as the bar was well stocked with popular beer and wine. The caterer had everything ready and the AV equipment worked perfectly. Could not have been more satisfied with this full service venue.”
